A ladybug eating an aphid

Look at this! Not even 24 hours after releasing our ladybugs and Rob was able to take this incredible picture of one of our ladybugs eating an aphid! He also took some other great shots of our ravenous carnivores that I wanted to share. Now that we know we have food for them, we're going to release another container in the backyard tomorrow.

  3. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through this and seeing the pictures. Do you remember me putting out ladybugs on the roses and the veggies up on the ridge? I went out in the sunshine today to look at the berm...perenials are starting to sprout...it is too soon! But it made me want to get my hands in the dirt and start looking at seed and flower catalogs! Beautiful job on your garden and fun reading, Mom

  5. ok, so you just have containers of lady bugs laying around your house? Where did you get them from? I have little tiny black ants inside my watermelon, cucumber and squash flowers... I read that the ants are there because aphids may be there and I guess I should get some lady bugs. I don't want to spray because I might ruin everything.
